Susan Badeau

There are only two lasting gifts we can give our children - one is roots, the other is wings

Professional Training

"Sue is an incredibly passionate and effective presenter.  She inspired our participants to develop creative ways to include youth and families in the work that they do in the child welfare, mental health, judiciary and pediatric health care systems, and provided them with tools to make it happen.  I consider Sue to be 'bilingual:' her personal experiences combined with her professional expertise are a unique combination that allows her to speak to and affect all types of audiences.  She is a gem!" Jane Halladay Goldman, PhD,  National Center for Child Traumatic Stress UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital.

Sue can work with your conference planners or training staff to develop virtual or in-person workshops, panel presentations, or multi-session professional training strategies designed to enhance and increase both the knowledge and skill of your staff or audience.  Sue will work with you to design the complete training package from strategically thinking through pre-training assessments and readiness, to developing the appropriate length, depth, breadth and modality for the training event(s), to delivering training with panache and finally to supporting your organization as you create the necessary follow-up activities - including coaching, mentoring and advanced practica to ensure that participants are able to transfer their learning to the home, community or work environment and that implementation of skills learned in training is sustainably supported.

Sue has consistently received rave reviews for providing powerful and effective training to a wide range of audiences including social work professionals, supervisors, and program administrators, judges and lawyers, policy-makers, pastors and other leaders in the faith community, youth leaders, mental health and medical home providers, parents, caregivers and advocates.  While she is still a fan of good old-fashioned in-person training, she is also happy to provide virtual training for daytime, evening or weekend needs.

Sue not only has extensive subject-matter expertise on a number of topics, but also has a strong understanding of the needs of adult learners.  A small sampling of Sue's  topics is provided below and in addition Sue is always eager to custom design trainings that best fit your agency or organization's needs. "One of my favorite opportunities is to address a new challenge," Sue explains, "I love it when conference planners or training coordinators ask me to develop a training on a new topic or with a twist on a familiar topic."
